���Ҵ�ý graduates from the Texas campus and Online Programs gathered this December at the Plano Event Center for the 2023 Fall Commencement. 

Graduates and their loved ones filled the auditorium for the ceremony, where ���Ҵ�ý Co-President Ward Ulmer welcomed them, expressing pride in their achievements and offering best wishes as they pursue their careers, bringing the caring culture of ���Ҵ�ý with them. 

Leslie P., a first-generation college graduate, shared the ceremony’s profound significance for both her and her family. Leslie’s achievement of attaining a bachelor of science in nursing degree is not just a personal victory but also a source of inspiration for her family and future generations. 

“My parents never finished high school or middle school,” she said. “I’m the first to do anything and it’s such a big day for us.”  

For Tristan T., graduating from ���Ҵ�ý with a master of public health degree means using his knowledge and skills to impact the healthcare sector positively. He shared his desire to address health literacy issues, specifically among veterans.  

“West Coast has set me up for success, and now I aim to give back by working at places like the VA, supporting former veterans,” Tristan said. 

Alexandra A. grew up in a rural area with limited healthcare access, experiencing firsthand the challenges of reaching medical facilities. Determined to make a difference in rural communities, she pursued a master of physician assistant degree at ���Ҵ�ý.  

“Thanks to my degree from ���Ҵ�ý, I’m now stepping into my field and serving in rural medicine,” she said. “I’m excited to make a difference in people’s lives, so they hopefully don’t experience the challenges I faced.” 

BSN graduate Dana A. reflected on her educational journey, overcoming personal and academic challenges to become a resilient and motivated individual. 

“Nursing school doesn’t just teach you how to be a nurse,” she said. “It teaches you how to be a human, it teaches you how to be a strong person.”
